Top startup events in South Africa, Africa you should know about this week [24/11/2019]

The year is almost over, but there are still plenty of events for those in Africa’s tech startup sector to attend.

On Thursday (28 November) edtech incubator Injini will hold a panel discussion and pitch competition at V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

In Johannesburg the Southern Africa Startup Awards grand finale will be the main event of the week. It takes place on Wednesday and Thursday (27 and 28 November). Ther’s also Heavy Chef’s The Fintechnologists event on Tuesday (26 November).

Senegal will host the second African Islamic Fintech Summit, on Friday and Saturday (29 and 30 November) in Dakar.

On Tuesday (26 November) the H-Web, together with the Tony Elumelu Foundation, will host a 90-minute online masterclass on planning for cross-territory intellectual property (IP) protection for startups. It will be held at 1pm Eastern African time, 12pm Central African time and 11am West African time.
